☀️Addison was born with Down Syndrome and Transient Myeloproliferative Disorder (TMD), a disorder caused by abnormal blood cells that travel throughout the body. The combination of TMD and Down Syndrome could also turn into leukemia before the age of 5. Addison's doctors wanted to monitor her monthly, since developing leukemia as a result of her diagnosis of Down Syndrome and TMD was greater. When Addison was 13 months old she was diagnosed with type 1 juvenile diabetes. Then in May 2017 we had confirmed that Addison (21 months old) had Acute Myeloid Leukemia and needed to start treatment. She looked so healthy and was so happy. How could she possibly have cancer? Addison started her treatment on June 22, 2017. She had 5 rounds of inpatient chemotherapy where we lived in Hackensack Hospital until December 14, 2017. She has kicked cancers butt all before she has even turned 3. She is our hero because through it all, she always has a smile on her face, makes everyone around her smile, and goes to the other kids in treatment and gives them hugs. We are so proud of her and can't wait to see what she has yet to accomplish in her life.
We are doing the Tomorrows Children's Fund Walk in Memory of Little Angelina and in Honor of Addison Hope.
